„Bieg Firmowy is a must in my running calendar”

May 11, 2021

Adrian Kos, the veteran of Bieg Firmowy, speaks about how his running adventure began and what he actually thinks about running during the pandemics.
Ola: Hello Adrian, tell me, when did your journey with Bieg firmowy begin?

Adrian: I have started the adventure with BIeg FIrmowy in 2015, if I remember well, it was only the third edition. Since then, I regularly join the charity relay race.

O: The passion for running was already in you since the beginning, or did you try some other sports?

A: Sport has always been close to my heart. In the beginning, as a child, I played football, but at some point the game did not bring much joy to me anymore. Later, I started to run. In the beginning I trained both running and football, but it was hard to do both and I had to give up one of them. I chose running and now I know that it was the best choice I could have made. For three years already, I treat running as my hobby. I In the beginning it was clearly a recreational activity, but now I workout under the eye of a professional. Neither the weather or temperature matter to me. The workout has to be completed.

O: Bravo! And what do you do professionally?

A: I work as a warehouse worker, in a family company DOTI Manufaktura. The company is located in a place I currently live in- in Smolec, nearby Wrocław. . I must admit, I have great support from my supervisors. During each of the editions of Bieg Firmowy, the whole company cheers and encourages our team.

O: Greetings to all the company! Adrian, you have participated in Bieg Firmowy for 6 years already. You for sure noticed big changes when it comes to the hybrid version of the event. What is your opinion on this?

A:I think that running events should still be organised during the pandemics, because of few simple reasons:

  1. Sport is healthy, if the organizers prepare events like this, people have bigger motivation to do the best they can during the final run.
  2. Bieg Firmowy lets us come back to normal life for a short moment.
  3. Running helps in maintaining mental health. Why? It gives us a sense of meaning and the feeling of rivalry.

There barely are any downsides, at last running happens outside. Thanks to the possibility to begin the run from any place, we avoid crowds and we follow all the sanitary rules.

O: We think the same way, what makes us even happier to see that there are over 9000 participants of this year’s edition of Bieg Firmowy. As a veteran, you for sure have an edition you remember the most. Can you share this memory with us?

A: Hm, yes! The edition I remember the most is the one held in 2019. Our team took third place in the mixed teams classification . It was such a nervous time to wait for the results! We run in the first series and had to wait until 3pm, but it was worth it! Those emotions 🙂

O: Congratulations! So, will we meet on the route of this year’s edition?

A: Of course we will. For me, Bieg Firmowy is a mandatory entry in the calendar!

O: That’s great! I hope that you will succeed with a high position in the ranking in this year too. FIngers crossed!

A: Thank you!
