Anna Balcerska
Ania- her world works at its own pace.
She's not running. She's not speeding up. Every day is a calm presence and small signals that you need to be able to notice. Contact with Ania teaches you to stop. Looking more closely. React more gently. Her strength is not loud, she is quiet and persistent. What does she face on a daily basis? Ania suffers from a deficiency of aromatic amino acid decarboxylase - a rare genetic disease that affects the work of the nervous system. She is a recumbent child, moves in a stroller and has a very limited ability to move independently. She doesn't hold objects in her hands, and contact with her can be difficult. She requires constant care and support in daily functioning. She is taught at home as part of individual instruction.
