Jakub - builds his independence every day.

He moves on a stroller, but this doesn't define his capabilities. At home, he uses orthotics, exercises, works on fitness and looks for ways to do as much as possible on his own. Not everything comes easily, but consistency and stubbornness allow him to push his own limits. Jakub doesn't focus on what he can't. He focuses on what he can do better today than yesterday. What does he face on a daily basis? Jakub has spinal muscular atrophy type 2, a genetic disease that gradually weakens the muscles. He moves in a wheelchair, and at home he uses orthoses to stand and move. Despite his great independence in many areas, he still needs support in his daily functioning and regular rehabilitation.
