Magdalena Radaczyńska
Magdalenka - from the first days in an intense struggle for development.
She was born on the 28th week of pregnancy. From the very beginning, her life is connected with treatment, medical equipment and specialized care. Her everyday life is not like the one we know from playgrounds or kindergarten. It's a world of therapy, medical check-ups and ongoing support. Every day is a concern for stability and comfort. This is the systematic work of a team of doctors, therapists and loved ones. What does she face on a daily basis? Magdalenka has quadriplegic cerebral palsy in the flaccid form, drug-resistant epilepsy, hemorrhagic hydrocephalus and secondary microcephaly. As a result of blood effusions into the brain, she has an implanted ventriculoperitoneal valve. She also struggles with premature retinopathy and vision problems, bronchopulmonary dysplasia and neurogenic bladder. She is fed by gastrostomy, doesn't sit, doesn't walk and doesn't speak. She requires round-the-clock care, specialized equipment and constant rehabilitation and therapy. The family takes care of the continuity of treatment and rehabilitation shifts to ensure the best possible comfort of functioning.
